The Rescue Haven Website is a custom-built WordPress site designed to support a local animal rescue. Created from initial mockups in Figma, the site features seamless integration with Shelterluv.com to provide real-time updates on adoptable animals. Despite limited input from the busy rescue team, the site was successfully developed through thorough research and innovative design.

The Rescue Haven Website was a rewarding project undertaken for a local animal rescue organization. Initially designed and mocked up in Figma, the site was custom-built using WordPress to meet the unique needs of the rescue. One of the primary challenges faced was the limited availability of the rescue’s team, who were too busy to provide content or specific guidelines. To overcome this, I conducted extensive research on both local and nationally recognized animal rescue organizations to develop a comprehensive page list and layout that would effectively serve the rescue’s mission.

A significant aspect of the project involved integrating Shelterluv.com, the software program used by the rescue to manage animal information and applications. The “Adoptable Animals” page, for instance, is dynamically populated with real-time data from Shelterluv, ensuring visitors always have access to up-to-date information on animals available for adoption. This seamless integration required careful coding and embedding of Shelterluv’s code into the website. Despite the initial content challenges, the final product is a user-friendly, informative, and visually appealing website that helps The Rescue Haven connect animals with loving homes efficiently.
